TRACE

Terms of Service

Last updated: 25 August 2026

These Terms govern your use of TRACE. By creating an account or using TRACE, you agree to these Terms.

1. Using TRACE

TRACE is a social platform where people can create profiles, publish content, communicate, create Traces and use features such as Journeys and Time Capsules.

You must use TRACE lawfully and in accordance with these Terms.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure.

You may not impersonate another person, misuse another account or create an account for abusive or fraudulent purposes.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit to TRACE.

By publishing content, you give TRACE the permissions reasonably necessary to store, process, display and distribute that content through the service according to the visibility and feature you selected.

You are responsible for content you upload and must have the rights needed to share it.

4. Prohibited conduct

Do not use TRACE for unlawful activity, harassment, threats, fraud, spam, malware, unauthorized access, exploitation, or content that violates the rights of others.

Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, overload or bypass the security of TRACE or its supporting systems.

5. Traces, Journeys and location

A Story location is descriptive content and is separate from Journey location data.

When a new Trace uses device location, TRACE is designed to reduce precision before storage. Exact GPS coordinates are not stored; location is rounded to an approximate area before reverse geocoding and Journey use.

Location-based features may be unavailable or less accurate when device permissions, network access or external services are unavailable.

6. Time Capsules and private communication

Time Capsules, messages and related media are delivered and stored through TRACE according to their feature rules.

A Time Capsule may remain unavailable until its selected opening time. Service availability, account status or technical changes can affect future access, so TRACE cannot promise permanent or indefinite storage.

7. Service changes and availability

TRACE may add, change, suspend or remove features as the product evolves.

We aim to keep the service available, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed.

8. Suspension and termination

TRACE may restrict or terminate access when necessary to protect users, the service, comply with law or address material violations of these Terms.

You may stop using TRACE at any time. Account deletion and data handling are subject to the Privacy Policy and technical/legal retention requirements.

9. Responsibility

TRACE is provided on an as-available basis to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated as TRACE changes or legal requirements evolve. The current version and its update date will be published on this page.

11. Contact

For questions about these Terms, use the official TRACE contact method published in the service.
